Author Notes

Nikki Bergstresser

Carter and The Cedar Forest Critters is a story about observing the world around you, to take the time to slow down and notice the little things.

Carter is a quiet and watchful boy. He is aware of his surroundings and learns from new experiences.

The critters in the forest know that Carter listens to them. He shows friendship by lending a helping hand, using problem-solving skills in the puzzling situations they come across.

I especially love the relationship that Carter has with his grandpa, Ranger Reid. There’s a special bond between a grandparent and grandchild. Carter learns a lot from his grandpa, and his grandpa learns a lot from Carter in return.

It is a summer that Carter will always remember.
